Zambia is urgently negotiating with its lenders to find a solution to the country's debt crisis. One of 54 countries in crisis, Zambia is the first to go through a new international process to help restructure debt.
Right now, we’ve got a chance to pile on the pressure and win debt cancellation for Zambia. The UK government is taking part in these negotiations and MPs are starting to ask questions in parliament about why Zambia has not had any debt cancelled, almost 18 months after applying through the new scheme.
We need MPs to demand the government does more to help, it’s vital we get as many as possible raising the alarm and demanding debt cancellation.
